One of my earliest childhood memories with my father was when we drove out to a huge drop off. My father took me everywhere to show and teach me about nature and various elements.

The Colorado River is the Male River of our people, the Diné. It is what sustains us for the year as it provides the sacred element of water. The river being our spiritual boundary taught me respect all within Navajoland.

Under a full moon in October, I created this image. I then went to work in the traditional darkroom and made this silver gelatin print.

The hands on approach is so worthwhile and can take a lot of time to correctly dodge and burn where needed.
